Unweavings by Laurie Wohl

Hosted By: Art And Scroll Studio

Fiber Artist Laurie Wohl’s work responds to the turmoil of our world through inspiration found in various poetic text sources, including Jewish, Christian and Muslim. She reflects the oldest traditions of narrative textiles, but in a completely contemporary idiom. Through her own iconography and collage, texture and calligraphy communicate a message of hope in each piece. Integrating materials with fiber and pattern, she boldly “unweaves” the fabric to reveal beginnings of new artwork that are visually stunning and spiritually uplifting.
