Tour of Jewish Zimbabwe

Hosted By: My Jewish Learning

Join My Jewish Learning for a virtual tour of Jewish Zimbabwe. The first synagogue in Zimbabwe, then the British colony of Rhodesia, was formed in 1894 by 20 Jews. The population of Jews in the country once numbered 1,500, but today, there are only several hundred. Our guide, Janice Benatar, who was born in the capital city of Harare, will share her knowledge and personal experience about the Jewish community during an extraordinarily tumultuous time.
