The Temple Mount: The Pain of the Past and the Politics of the Present

Hosted By: Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning

Central to Jewish history is our relationship with Jerusalem. Central to Jewish worship is our focus on Jerusalem. Central to Tisha Ba’av is the twice-destroyed Temple in Jerusalem. And central to the future of the State of Israel are the challenges and opportunities that exist in the modern city of Jerusalem.

In this four-part course, we will explore the events that took place in Jerusalem leading to the destruction of both Temples, as well as the dramas that are occurring today, including the debates concerning access to, and worship on, the Temple Mount.

Course dates: July 19, 26, August 2, and 9.
