Explore the lives and work of “Mammo” Yona Gabai, a Kurdish Jewish elder and storyteller, and Yona Sabar, a Kurdish-Israeli language and folklore scholar. In honor of the Kurdish Jewish post-Passover holiday of Seharaneh, Ilana Cruger-Zaken will share some of her favorite stories and discuss the significance of Kurdish Jews today reclaiming their languages and cultural stories.
