Revisiting a Forgotten Center: Caribbean Jewry in a Global Perpective

Hosted By: The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University

To most of us, the Caribbean is a place for vacations, not an active hub of Jewish life. But from the seventeenth through the mid-nineteenth centuries, this region was the center, economically and culturally, of American Jewry. Join us to learn the fascinating history of Jews in the Caribbean, as we explore the largely forgotten Dutch empire and the global connections of this influential Jewish community.
