Making Art in Times of Conflict

Hosted By: Moment Magazine

Rabbi/Cantor and writer Avram Mlotek, playwright Michelle Kholos Brooks, and David Herskovits, founding artistic director of Target Margin Theater, discuss the creation of art in troubling times. They will explore themes of beauty and expression amid chaos and sadness, with Mlotek sharing insights from his new musical “Amid Falling Walls,” which features Yiddish songs from the Holocaust, Brooks discussing her play “Room 1214,” based on a real classroom shooting during a Holocaust history lesson, and Herskovits introducing his play “Remember This Trick” that addresses American antisemitism and survival. This conversation, moderated by Willow Jade Norton of the Alliance for Jewish Theatre, is co-sponsored by MomentLive! and the Alliance for Jewish Theatre.
