Israeli Graffiti Art: Secrets from Behind the Scenes

Hosted By: The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University

This summer Israeli graffiti artist Dede will be creating an installation of his work in Cleveland. How did Israeli street art become such a cultural force? Join Elinoy Kisslove, Tel Aviv-based graffiti artist and activist, for an illustrated talk about the vibrant street art scene in Tel Aviv. We’ll explore how Tel Aviv’s graffiti art reflects different aspects of Israeli culture and society, what leads the artists to take great risks in order to express themselves on public walls, and the many and varied reactions to their work.

This lecture is offered in partnership with the Cleveland Israel Arts Connection of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
