The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Education presents a two-session course exploring the Book of Ruth and its relevance to building a just and compassionate community. Through the lens of Ruth’s story, the course will examine questions of belonging, obligation, kindness, and power. Led by Rabbi Michele Faudem, the sessions will reflect on the enduring values this biblical narrative calls us to live by today.

Rabbi Michele Faudem is an energetic and passionate Jewish educator with over 25 years of education and pastoral experience. Over this time period, she has taught in both formal and informal settings across a range of middle and high school students, college students, and adults. A hallmark of Rabbi Faudem’s educational technique is the personal connections and relationships she forges with each of her students and the impact that those relationships have on her students’ engagement with their Jewish identity and connection.
