God Save Our Gracious Queen
Hosted By: London School of Jewish Studies (LSJS)
Timed to coincide with the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee, this course will examine the relationship between monarchy and Judaism from a scriptural, historical and contemporary perspective.
This course is in two parts, the first looks at references to monarchy in Tanach, the prayer for the Royal Family and other texts. The second focuses on monarchs’ impact on Jewish history, especially in Britain, from the expulsion of the Jews in the Middle Ages, to readmission and the modern Elizabethan era.
You can sign up for one session or both. It is 22 for the entire series.
