Etgar Keret: A Mother’s WWII Bedtime Stories
Hosted By: American Jewish University
Etgar Keret’s first exposure to making up stories was his mother’s bedtime stories. Sometimes fictional, sometime real, his mother’s stories were influenced by her experience growing up in a Poland ghetto during WWII. In this deeply personal talk Keret discusses the magical childlike world of his mother, juxtaposed by the horror of the war around her. In trying to tell his mother’s stories, Keret seeks to find an understanding of the forces that had impacted his family and himself.
