Beit Shearim – The Ancient Jewish Necropolis

“Visit” this often-overlooked site, which was chosen by rabbi Yehuda HaNassi – the assembler of the Mishna – to become his gravesite. For centuries later, it was the greatest Jewish cemetery. See caves, menoras and inscriptions, as well as the statue of most famous “Shomer” Alexander Zaid who found the site some 90 years ago.
