Access Judaism: Terrible Explanations about Why the Righteous Suffer

Hosted By: Keeping It Sacred (KITS)

Why do bad things happen to good people? We don’t know. But we do know a bad explanation when we hear it. Join this class to begin to heal from spiritually corrosive explanations of your suffering, to learn how to best support a suffering loved one, and how to draw boundaries when someone shares an unhelpful word. No experience necessary. All are welcome.

This is one class in a 16-class series called Access Judaism, intentionally designed by Rabbi Heather Miller. Taken together, classes feature a broad spectrum of Jewish subjects in the realm of history, rituals, culture, philosophy, law, and spirituality. These classes, which include post-class reflection questions and responses, can also count towards requirements for conversion or adult B’nai mitzvah.
