Finding the Hidden Miracles

Reflected in Torah, liturgy and holidays, Judaism teaches gratitude for miracles great and small. Tal Dimenstein explores how historical miracles animate the Jewish calendar and siddur while reflecting on her own personal miracle at the time of a harrowing family emergency. In doing so, Dimenstein makes the case for an expanded definition of miracles, and for the power of the Jewish calendar to facilitate connections between the historical and the personal.

Tal Dimenstein attends Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School. She developed her love of performance as a member of J*company Youth Theatre and has performed in shows including Cinderella, Fiddler on the Roof, and Yentl. Dimenstein would like to thank her parents, family, friends, and the ELI Talks team for encouraging and helping her so that she could experience this once in a lifetime event.
