What If?

Hosted By: The Fritz Ascher Society for Persecuted, Ostracized and Banned Art

The Fritz Ascher Society presents a talk by Georgetown University professor Ori Z. Soltes on Jewish artists whose lives and careers were cut short by the Holocaust. The lecture considers both well-known and lesser-known figures—such as Charlotte Salomon, Felix Nussbaum, Erna Dem, and Fritz Taussig—and asks what might have been had they survived. Through images and reflection, the session explores the loss of artistic potential and the impact on twentieth-century visual art.
