Edgar Bronfman Discusses Intermarriage.

Edgar Bronfman, President of the Samuel Bronfman Foundation, and author of Hope, Not Fear: A Path to Jewish Renaissance, is guest blogging at JEWCY this week.

Yesterday, he wrote a very interesting piece outlining his views on intermarriage and the future of North American Judaism. I’ve blogged in the past linking to Bronfman’s thoughts on intermarriage, but regardless of your personal views on the subject, he always has interesting (and compelling) things to say.

Here is just one line that I found eloquent and noteworthy:

“In an open society, people from diverse backgrounds will fall in love. The real numbers problem is not that Jews are falling in love with non-Jews, but that they aren’t falling in love with Judaism.”

So, please check out the blog post. Also, if you’re feeling lonely and/or want to keep up with Mr. Bronfman’s work, add him to Facebook (where he will also keep you updated on new things going on at MyJewishLearning).
