Graphic Israel

Today, the Very Short List featured a new graphic novel — Exit Wounds, by Rutu Modan — that takes place in Israel and addresses terrorism and the conflict with the Palestinians.

In Exit Wounds, Modan (a frequent contributor to the New York Times and the New Yorker, and a former editor of the Israeli edition of MAD magazine) tells the story of Koby, a taxi driver from Tel Aviv who has been estranged from his father for two years when Numi, a female soldier, brings him word that his father may have died in a recent Palestinian attack.
