This Jewish Olympian Is Also a Talented Babka Baker

An amazing athlete and lover of Jewish food!

Jewish Australian Jemima Montag is headed to Tokyo this summer to compete in her first-ever Olympic Games as a racewalker. (Yes, racewalking is a sport, something Jewish moms and grandmothers have been perfecting for decades.)

And it turns out that in addition to being a super talented athlete, Montag is a passionate and gifted baker! That’s right, she shares photos of all kinds of culinary creations, from her easy, veggie-filled breakfasts on busy mornings, to a full spread for Friday night dinner and even some celebratory chocolate babka. Anyone who has ever baked babka knows it’s not a casual undertaking — it requires some skill.

All of Montag’s food pics on Instagram look truly delicious — this is a Jewish lady who knows how to cook and, clearly, it has helped fuel her on the path to Olympic greatness. We’ll be rooting you on, Jemima, and looking forward to more delicious food photos from Tokyo and beyond.
