Announcing The Nosher’s Jewish Food Fellows Program

Learn about the program and how to apply.

We are so excited to announce The Nosher’s Food Fellowship!

The Nosher’s Food Fellowship aims to diversify the voices telling Jewish food stories in media spaces through recipes, stories, photos and video. Through this exclusive fellowship, The Nosher’s staff and contributing experts will provide essential skill-building and educational sessions to help create dynamic and creative food content.

The 5-part curriculum will focus on recipe development and testing; how to pitch a story; food photography and styling; video and social media; and incorporating researched food history into online storytelling. The fellowship will also provide the opportunity to connect with a cohort of other food writers and content creators.

Deadline to apply is February 1, 2024. Click here to access the online application.

Dates for fellowship sessions will be as follows. All sessions will take place online via Zoom:

  • Wednesday, Mar 6, 2024 at 8:00 pm ET
  • Wednesday Mar 20, 2024 at 8:00 pm ET
  • Wednesday, Apr 3, 2024 at 8:00 pm ET
  • Wednesday, Apr 17, 2024 at 8:00 pm ET
  • Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 8:00 pm ET

As part of the experience, fellows are encouraged to publish 1-2 pieces during the fellowship. This is a non-paid program, but fellows will be paid standard rates for all published articles.

Are you wondering if this might be a good fit for you? Here are some indicators that you should apply:

  • People are always asking for your Jewish recipes, but you’re not sure how to start documenting them.
  • You have an arsenal of Jewish holiday recipes, Shabbat recipes or unique recipes that tell a story about your identity.
  • Telling unique family food stories in written and/or visual form really gets you excited.
  • You have been trying your hand at creating videos on Instagram or TikTok but really want to improve on this.
  • You have been taking photos of your Jewish food creations, but want to understand more about lighting, composition and styling to create more engaging food photos.

Deadline to apply is February 1, 2024. Click here to access the online application.
