A Dairy-Free Frosting with a Secret Ingredient

Making a creamy dairy-free (pareve) chocolate frosting just got way easier. No, it doesn’t involve margarine or tofu. Behold, the creamy goodness of sweet potato, and the ingenuity of Food52.

All you need to make this silky smooth frosting is a can of sweet potato puree and 10 ounces of semisweet or bittersweet baking chocolate (chocolate chips will work fine, too!). What might feel like a stovetop science experiment will soon yield a completely vegan frosting that’s easily mistaken as buttercream. Watch the video below if you don’t believe us:
