Spiced Apple Cider & Gin Cocktail Recipe

It tastes like apple-picking and cinnamon donuts.

One of my favorite annual traditions is visiting a Detroit apple orchard and cider mill to ring in the new year for Rosh Hashanah. Things come to me while I’m either picking apples with family or eating some fresh cinnamon-sugar donuts; those sorts of memories that get channeled into flavors are the ones I think translate best. Plus, apple-inspired drinks are incredibly versatile.

This cocktail is called the Lammas. It won the Detroit City Distillery competition and led me to blending Shopkeepers Gin, with flavors of grapefruit zest, juniper, coriander, orris root and cinnamon.
