These iconic Passover cookies are so much better when made at home, and come together quickly.

  • Total Time: 25-30 minutes
  • Yield: 12-16

Ingredients

Units
  • cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla
  • scant ¼ tsp orange extract
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 3 ½ cups shredded unsweetened coconut
  • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Stir together the condensed milk, egg white, vanilla, orange extract and salt in a medium bowl until well combined.
  3. Fold in the coconut, followed by the chocolate chips. Drop tablespoonfuls onto the baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  4. Bake until cookies are lightly brown, 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool, then peel cookies from parchment.

Notes

Store the macaroons in an airtight container.
