Chicago YIVO presents a lecture on Menachem Kipnis (1878–1942), one of the early twentieth century’s most popular Jewish East European ethnomusicologists, folklorists, and photographers. His stories and photographs have now been published together in a single book for the first time, capturing a sense of the world destroyed in the Holocaust.
