With Pen and Pistol: Heroines of the Holocaust
Hosted By: Haberman Institute
The Haberman Institute for Jewish Studies presents a program on Jewish and non-Jewish women who used pen and pistol in the fight against Nazi tyranny, including doctors, nurses, lawyers, journalists, educators, artists, and resistance fighters. Through stories of rescue, armed resistance, and moral courage, participants will encounter figures including Zivia Lubetkin, Vitka Kempner-Kovner, Friedl Dicker-Brandeis, Hadassah Rosensaft, and Josephine Baker. Their actions and legacies underscore the ongoing responsibility to confront antisemitism, hatred, and injustice.
