When They Come Home: Supporting Israel’s Student Reservists Beyond the Battlefield

Afeka College of Engineering presents a conversation with Afeka President Prof. Yossi Rosenwaks and Tom Wasserstein, whose brother, Afeka student and reserve combat medic Roi Wasserstein, died by suicide following his reserve service in Gaza. The discussion examines the challenges facing tens of thousands of Israeli student reservists returning from extended duty since October 7, and Afeka’s initiatives to support them, including Ohel Rei (The Quiet Tent), built on listening, collaboration, and commitment to student wellbeing. A current Afeka student will share their firsthand experience.
