Virtual Tour of JTS’ Rare Book Room

Hosted By: Stephen Wise Free Synagogue

Take a virtual lunchtime tour of the Jewish Theological Seminary’s rare book room! The library at Manhattan’s JTS contains the most impressive collection of rare historical documents in the United States — hundreds of ancient Jewish marriage contracts, thousands of unique manuscripts, and tens of thousands of fragments recovered in Egypt from the famed Cairo Genizah. Join the library’s director, Prof. David Kraemer, as he shows participants around and discusses the extraordinary collection of works housed on their fifth floor. This event is sponsored by the Women’s Organization of Stephen Wise Free Synagogue.
