Join us for a virtual tour of Northern Israel’s kibbutzim, in the eighteenth installment of our monthly Virtual Israel Travel series with Reuven Solomon, Master Tour Guide.
We will learn more about the kibbutz by visiting several of these northern settlements, which are unique to Israel. The first kibbutz was Degania Aleph, founded in 1910. Today, there are over 270 kibbutzim in Israel. They have diversified greatly since their mostly agricultural start, and many have become private.
We will explore:
• Kinneret Courtyard – “Cradle of the Kibbutz”
• Degania Aleph – the first kibbutz
• Kibbutz Merhavia and Golda’s gramophone
• Kibbutz Sasa – the armored kibbutz
