‘Vanished Streets: Unseen Photographs of Jewish London’

Hosted By: Yiddish Book Center (Amherst, MA)

The Yiddish Book Center presents a Zoom conversation with London-based artist, writer, and curator Rachel Lichtenstein and Jewish Renaissance director Aviva Dautch on the story behind Shloimy Alman’s photographs, currently on view at the Center, and the vanishing streets of East London. Alman began the project not as a photographer but to document Jewish life in England for his children after falling in love with the East London area.
