Unlikely Friends: A Conversation with Bereaved Palestinian and Israeli Fathers

Hosted By: The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program at Case Western Reserve University

Palestinian Bassam Aramin and Israeli Rami Elhanan both lost their young daughters to the conflict. As former co-directors of “The Parents Circle”, an Israeli-Palestinian organization of bereaved families, they seek a path of reconciliation. Irish-American writer Colum McCann wove their stories into his award-winning novel “Apeirogon” – named for a shape with a countably infinite number of sides. Join us for a conversation with these three unlikely friends, as they discuss loss, literature, friendship, and their hopes for peace.
