DESCRIPTION:Siegal Lifelong Learning\, CWRU presents a course with Alaska Tribal Judge Voluck examining Alaska Native Tribal law as a living legal system grounded in community\, environmental relationships\, and sovereign authority within American law. The program also explores historical connections between Indigenous rights and Jewish advocacy\, along with similarities and differences between Indigenous and Jewish legal traditions. Topics include Indigenous sovereignty and justice systems\, the Indian Child Welfare Act\, family and communal responsibility\, environmental relationships\, and law as a lived moral practice.
