The Wanderers: The Jews Who Fled East to Survive the Holocaust

Hosted By: Moment Magazine

Moment Magazine presents a conversation with Daniela Gerson about her book “The Wanderers: A Story of Exile, Survival, and Unexpected Love in the Shadow of World War II,” which traces how her grandparents and her wife’s grandparents escaped the same Polish town during World War II and endured years of displacement, Soviet labor camps, and exile in Central Asia. The discussion explores the little-known story of the many Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust by fleeing east into the Soviet Union and the hidden history of Jewish refugees under Stalin. Gerson will be in conversation with Moment Opinion and Books Editor Amy E. Schwartz.
