SUMMARY:Friday Evening Shabbat Service
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our weekly Shabbat service! We rotate between Shabbat B’yachad\, Shabbat Shirah\, and a Classic Shabbat: \nShabbat B’yachad is Temple Israel’s signature Friday evening service featuring a tapestry of contemporary and familiar Shabbat melodies. \nClassic Shabbat is an elegant worship service featuring classical cantorial music in a traditional Reform style\, familiar English prayers\, and a Torah reading. \nShabbat Shirah is a soulful musical service “in-the-round” with energetic and participatory singing in the style of modern Reform Israeli\, and post-denominational minyanim. Some of the melodies will be familiar and others will be new\, but do not fear: all the words will be provided in Hebrew\, transliteration\, and English so you can participate easily. Our wonderful musicians will be accompanying us in leading the service.

SUMMARY:East of the Holocaust: Jewish Refuge in Wartime Asia
DESCRIPTION:The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Education presents a session exploring the little-known experiences of the approximately 40\,000 Jews who lived in Asia during World War II. Set against the broader backdrop of Chinese and Japanese wartime policy toward Jews\, the class examines the histories of Baghdadi Jews in Calcutta\, European Jewish refugees in Shanghai\, and the internment of Jews in Singapore under Japanese occupation. This session uncovers a complex and global chapter of Jewish history—one of unlikely encounters\, temporary sanctuaries\, and shifting political landscapes.

SUMMARY:Seven Weeks Toward Healing and Wholeness: An Omer Journey through the Sefirot
DESCRIPTION:The Institute for Jewish Spirituality presents a seven-week journey of mindfulness practice during the Omer\, the period between Passover and Shavuot. Each week will focus on a sacred quality drawn from Kabbalah\, offering participants a framework for healing\, growth\, and spiritual development. Rooted in Jewish mystical tradition\, the program moves from the constriction of Mitzrayim to the expansiveness of Sinai through the lens of the sefirot.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Kabbalah: The Sefirot of the Omer
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Applied Jewish Spirituality\, this course explores the Sefirot of the Tree of Life—the primary Kabbalistic map of existence\, experience\, and personal growth. Participants will study how generations of Kabbalists understood the Sefirah of each week of the Omer and how these qualities may manifest in their own lives. Through textual learning and meditative practices\, the course offers pathways into the growth and healing each Sefirah invites.
