The Real Story of Hanukkah: Finding Meaning for Interfaith Families
Hosted By: 18Doors

Curious how the holiday of Hanukkah came to be what we celebrate today? First there was a war. Next there was a myth. But before both were thousands of years of humanity’s reckoning with the mysteries of the world. In this deep dive into Hanukkah with 18Doors’ Rabbi Michal Woll, we’ll learn the historical background and the Rabbinic tale that guide our understanding and practice of the holiday.
Hanukkah is not the Jewish Christmas, yet both holidays have roots in something much older and more universal: the deep need to bring light into the darkness. What do we need from these lights today: for ourselves, for our communities, for the world? We will explore universal, spiritual and moral interpretations of Hanukkah that can be meaningful for every member of an interfaith family and/or community. We will end by lighting candles together for the third night of Hanukkah.
