The Listening Room: Cantors of Switzerland

Hosted By: The Cantors Assembly

Even afficionados of cantorial music may not know that Switzerland has been home to some of the world’s great cantors and cantorial choirs for decades. Names like Marcel Lang, Berhard San and Issachar Helman may not be household names in North America, but once you hear them, you’ll wonder “Why not?” Joining Host Robert Kieval will be members of the Lang family as well as the directors of the Basel Synagogue Choir and Zurich Synagogue Choir, two of the longest-running uninterrupted Jewish choirs in Europe.
