The Jews of Indonesia: A Diverse Community Across Many Islands

Qesher will explore the diverse “kehilot” that make up one of the most isolated re-emerging Jewish communities in the world—Indonesia. Spanning the archipelago from Sumatra to Papua, Indonesia’s Jews are descended from various Jewish diasporas, each community with its own unique history and culture. Together, they form a vibrant and authentic Judaism that is distinctly Indonesian.
