The God of the Bible

The London School of Jewish Studies explores how God is portrayed in the Tanach—as creator, liberator, lawgiver, and more—and asks what these images reveal about the divine “personality.” Drawing on biblical, talmudic, midrashic, medieval, and modern sources, the course deepens and broadens understanding of how Jews have imagined and related to God. It also addresses why many Jews feel uncertain about speaking openly about God, offering tools for more meaningful reflection and spiritual connection.
