The Five Megillot: The Book of Lamentations
Hosted By: My Jewish Learning

This final session of the series will focus on Eicha (Lamentations), read on Tisha b’Av. The destruction of the ancient Temple in Jerusalem, which Tisha b’Av commemorates, represented a theological and existential crisis for the Jewish people. In this class, we will see how Eicha captures the agony and bewilderment of that painful moment in Jewish history.
This class is part of My Jewish Learning’s series with Rabbi Sara Brandes on the Megillot – the biblical scrolls – that are chanted on Purim, Passover, Shavuot, Tisha B’Av, and Sukkot.
