The Courage to Be Free

Hosted By: Pardes

It is only natural to assume that people prefer freedom over bondage, yet the reality is far more complex. In addition to the varying complexities of political and economic freedom within ostensibly free countries, many of us remain, sometimes by choice, in emotional and spiritual bondage. What are the key elements of freedom and how does one go about internalizing them?

In this pre-Passover class, we will carefully examine Chapter 12 of Exodus, which outlines the first commandments given to the Jewish people while still enslaved in Egypt, and we will see how “re-experiencing” the Exodus can be a powerful tool in our personal quests for freedom.
