Spiritual/Mystical Meaning of Lecha Dodi: and Shabbat: Introduction to Kabbalah

Hosted By: Jewish Study Center

The Jewish Study Center presents a session on the basic concepts of Kabbalah as they relate to Shabbat and the core Friday evening prayer “Lecha Dodi,” written in the 16th century by Shlomo Halevi Alkabetz and traditionally sung in Safed to welcome the Sabbath. Participants will explore how understanding key Kabbalistic ideas unlocks the prayer’s spiritual and mystical depth. The session also serves as a prerequisite for a follow-up class on Jewish mysticism.
