Soundtrack 250: Music That Makes America Sing
Hosted By: Moment Magazine
Moment Magazine presents a conversation with jazz pianist Joe Alterman, executive director of Neranenah and Soundtrack 250 co-editor, and Moment Deputy Editor Jennifer Bardi on iconic songs written or composed by Jews that help tell the story of America. To mark America’s 250th, the discussion explores how Jewish songwriters wrote about baseball, Christmas, patriotism, romance, and home not because they had inherited those things, but because they were studying them and imagining their way into them. Alterman and Bardi will discuss the stories behind the songs, how they landed on twenty-five tunes, and what they would choose if they could add one more to the list.
