Singing our Stories

Hosted By: Jewish Arts Collaborative

In this workshop, participants are invited to join musician Yoni Battat as partners in the process of writing a new song about home and memory. Held by a soundscape of Yoni’s music, participants will reflect on some of their most treasured memories, bringing the sights, sounds, tastes, smells and feelings of their stories into the mind’s eye and the imagination. Participants will then be invited to share their reflections with each other and with Yoni as possible lyric material for his songs. In culmination, participants will join their voices together virtually and record musical phrases that will be mixed into the final piece of music.

Limited to 25. Participants are asked to find a quiet place to attend the workshop, and bring a cell phone that they can use to record themselves singing!

This event is open to all Boston area Jews.
