Shabbat Service and Cultural Program with Jewish Currents
Hosted By: The City Congregation For Humanistic Judaism
Jacob Plitman will be joining us to discuss the past, present, and future of progressive Judaism. The quarterly magazine Jewish Currents is 75 years old; since its relaunch in 2018 it has quadrupled in size, thanks to a large influx of progressive millennial secular Jews. While this growth is significant, it is only one of several millennial-driven examples of expanding progressive Jewish organizations. Why is this happening? What history led us here? And what does it mean for the future?
The event will be preceded by an open house, join at 6:30pm if you’d like to ask questions about TCC.
