Seventy One Faces of Torah?

Hosted By: London School of Jewish Studies (LSJS)

The London School of Jewish Studies explores the long history of biblical interpretation and the enduring question of how many meanings a single text can hold. Tracing debates between advocates of multiple interpretive approaches and defenders of a single “correct” reading, the session examines the tension between creativity and constraint in Torah study. Participants will consider what is at stake in living with multiple interpretations and whether this plurality is a strength, a challenge, or both.
