DESCRIPTION:The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Education presents a class exploring Abraham Joshua Heschel’s classic work\, “The Sabbath.” Through guided discussion and selected readings\, participants will reflect on Heschel’s poetic vision of Shabbat as sacred time — “a cathedral in time” — and a spiritual response to the pressures of modern life. This course offers an opportunity to move beyond observing Shabbat to truly experiencing it as refuge\, presence\, and renewal.
