Repentance in Modern Jewish Thought
Hosted By: Torah in Motion
The concept of repentance was much derided in the modern era by thinkers such as Spinoza and Nietzsche. Ironically though, a number of significant twentieth Century Jewish thinkers appear to agree with major elements of that critique. In this course we will look at how, in the hands of such thinkers as Rav Soloveitchik and Rav Kook, viewing Teshuvah through this critical filter led to a revised and highly modern version of this time honoured concept.
