Redeeming Eve: A Modern Perspective
Hosted By: Haberman Institute
The Haberman Institute for Jewish Studies explores how traditional Jewish and Christian interpretations have blamed Eve for disobedience and cast her as the source of sin and mortality, shaping how other biblical women have been understood. This session closely examines the text to ask whether those readings are justified or reflect inherited male assumptions about women. Additional biblical stories will be reconsidered in light of a fresh reading of Eve’s story, with no Hebrew knowledge required.
