Qesher presents “In Search of Amnesia,” a five-year documentary project examining the Jewish narrative in Poland and Ukraine and how Jewish memory is held in places that suffered atrocity and immense loss. The title refers to a state of trauma in which searching for amnesia means being drawn to a deep sense of loss while unable to fully revisit the site of the original trauma. The images presented occupy this psychological space, the push-pull between the horror and the wish to rectify history.
