Qesher Book Club: ‘Dog’

Hosted By: Qesher

Qesher Book Club presents a discussion of “Dog,” a novel by Yishay Ishi Ron that follows an Israeli combat officer whose unprocessed PTSD drives him into heroin addiction and Tel Aviv’s community of misfit junkies. His life shifts when a stray dog appears, forcing him to confront both his despair and the possibility of connection. Long-listed for the Sapir Prize, the book explores how war rewires the mind while offering sharp social critique and emotional depth; the session will also include Yardenne Greenspan, the book’s English translator.

Qesher

There are Jewish communities all around the globe with their own unique history, culture, places, and most of all, people and stories. All of them different, but sharing so much. The aim of Qesher is to connect these different Jewish traditions, not just to know of each other, but to learn about each other. We believe that there is great value in creating a deeper understanding within the Jewish world and exploring Jewish experiences and identities in all their diversity.
