DESCRIPTION:Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy examines how most of the world’s Jewish population is now concentrated in the United States and Israel\, leaving many historic communities on the brink of disappearance. Drawing on journeys to more than one hundred countries\, this program explores efforts to document endangered Jewish communities before they vanish. The evening traces these journeys across places such as Iraq\, Syria\, Libya\, Tunisia\, and Azerbaijan\, as living history gives way to memory.
