The Online Jewish Travel Club presents a two-part exploration of the shtetl, the small Eastern European market town that became a world unto itself. This program looks at how Jewish life in Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine and Belarus took shape through work, humor, study and the daily struggle for dignity and survival. Participants will explore the textures of shtetl life—its homes and marketplaces, its ingenuity and customs, its family and community structures, and its complex relationships with Christian neighbors.
