New Songs for the Synagogue: Sacred Sounds Reborn

Hosted By: Jewish Study Center

The Jewish Study Center presents a session with Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray, a fourth-generation cantor and founder of the Women Cantors’ Network, who blends her grandfather’s traditional nusach with new, accessible synagogue music. Seven of her compositions, created with arranger and producer Beth Styles, appear on her album Sacred Sounds Reborn. In this class, she will discuss how these pieces were developed and demonstrate how to sing them.
